Style Study - What is my Style?

I think "Style" can mean a lot of different things so let's define it here for our purposes.

Style for me, is what visually appeals to me. What jumps out at me most when I am browsing Pinterest or Instagram.

I do not always adhere to these rules but it is my most common starting place. Here are a few of my cards that speak to my style:

A white background - I nearly always use a white card base. Sometimes a colored card front, but always a white card base. I prefer them to be sturdy so I use a 110lb or 120lb cardstock weight.

I love sparkle and glitter but balanced with white space and/or other more matte elements.

A clean and simple design.

I like clean lines. Nothing too distressed, nothing too busy.
A main focal point.

Even if it is a group of items on a card they still come together as a larger element.

Muted earthy colors, Mustard yellow over lemon yellow, olive green to bright green, rusty orange to orange peel etc.

Even when I venture away from those guidelines a bit, I still love a focal point with impact.

I plan to focus this season on branching out a bit, challenging myself to re-imagine what has always been my comfort zone.
Stay Tuned....
